What it's about

Spoiler level: Minor — for the synopsis & review below

Rosé Ovair awakens in a wealthy young woman's body and assumes she has entered the kind of romance story where a handsome fiancé guarantees a happy ending. Rose Ivy Manor immediately offers reasons to doubt that interpretation. Her father died under unclear circumstances, the servants use false names, and the household enforces rules whose consequences appear far more serious than ordinary etiquette. Rosé remains so committed to viewing events through romantic expectations that she repeatedly overlooks evidence of horror. As the manor's secrets close around her, she must recognize what kind of story she is actually in—and whether the beautiful man at its center represents rescue, danger, or both.

Ch. 02 · Our verdict

My take

The Rules of Rose Ivy Manor makes excellent use of tonal mismatch: Rosé acts like an enthusiastic romance heroine while the art and cast signal she has wandered into gothic horror. Mulpooule's art shifts sharply between pretty romance-fantasy and disturbing imagery, rewarding readers who watch the backgrounds and rules. Her deliberate obliviousness delays some reveals. The compact fifty-five-episode run and completed ending keep the mansion mystery tight.

✓ Read it if…

It's villainess-style reincarnation without another court-politics marathon. The manor rules raise instant questions, the horror imagery has real bite, and Rosé's cheerfulness keeps the dread from turning bleak. The short completed run makes a great weekend binge, with extra fun in spotting the visual clues she misses.

! Skip it if…

Rosé's refusal to see obvious danger is either hilarious or deeply frustrating. The romance is thinner than the mystery, and the short run leaves side characters and lore underdeveloped. Despite the bright cover, there's death, blood, and unsettling transformations, though the comedy undercuts the scares.
