Ch. 01 · The story

What it's about

Spoiler level: Minor — for the synopsis & review below

Popular college student Suchan Jang has spent years hiding dragonfly wings that appeared after he used a mysterious insecticide called Jungle Juice. When saving another person exposes him, the social life he carefully protected collapses. His search for a cure leads to Nest, a secret community and school for people whose bodies have fused with insect traits. There he learns to fight, studies the abilities produced by different species, and encounters predators who view transformed humans as tools or prey. Suchan initially wants only to become normal again, but surviving Nest forces him to reconsider what humanity means and what he is willing to protect.

Ch. 02 · Our verdict

My take

Jungle Juice takes a potentially gimmicky concept and gives it real tactical range: wings, venom, armor, and camouflage drive fights that use biology creatively. JUDER's polished art moves easily between glamorous designs and unsettling transformations. Suchan's shame about his body grows into a story of belonging as Nest becomes a community, though some villains lean hard on cruelty and later arcs turn more conventional. The completed main story is followed by spin-off stories.

✓ Read it if…

The power design is the draw: each insect ability suggests a fighting style, weakness, and personality instead of a generic upgrade. The academy cast forms a reliable found-family core, and Suchan's changing feelings about his wings give the spectacle an emotional throughline, all in unusually detailed action art.

! Skip it if…

Insect body horror is constant, from molting to altered limbs and predation, and the villains are sadistic, with experimentation on transformed people. After the identity-focused early chapters it becomes increasingly battle-driven, and romance stays secondary to survival and team conflict.
