Ch. 01 · The story

What it's about

Spoiler level: Minor — for the synopsis & review below

Lyra lives quietly above her grandmother's flower shop and carries an unspoken love for her childhood friend Shon, whose existing relationship keeps her feelings contained. One night, a mysterious siren named Ian pulls her into the sea and a curse begins transforming Lyra into one of his kind. Breaking it requires understanding siren bonds, lost memories, and the painful choices that created Ian's fate. Lyra, Shon, and Ian become entangled in a relationship where affection cannot be separated from sacrifice. The closer Lyra comes to the truth, the more she must choose what kind of life—and love—she wants rather than simply waiting for one to happen.

Ch. 02 · Our verdict

My take

Siren's Lament uses its curse to intensify very human feelings: loving someone unavailable and mistaking sacrifice for proof of love. Lyra grows from a hesitant heroine into someone who makes her own choices, and Shon's gentleness keeps the triangle from being a simple good-guy-versus-bad-boy contest. The middle drags and the triangle may exhaust readers who pick a side early. instantmiso's luminous art makes it an enduring WEBTOON romance.

✓ Read it if…

Both sides of the love triangle have real emotional history, so the choice feels consequential rather than decorative. The ocean imagery and color work stay beautiful, and the curse gives yearning a physical form. Lyra's growth into agency is rewarding, and the completed run closes both the mystery and the romance.

! Skip it if…

Lyra is passive early on, and the prolonged triangle can frustrate. Several conflicts rely on lost memories, withheld explanations, or characters deciding what's best for someone else, and the siren rules aren't rigorous. Grief, abandonment, and self-sacrifice make it heavier than the polished visuals suggest.
