Ch. 01 · The story

What it's about

Spoiler level: No — for the synopsis & review below

College student Josiah Liu wakes inside the body of Zachary Wahlberg, the second male lead from his sister's favorite romance novel. Returning home apparently requires him to guide the original storyline to its proper conclusion. Unfortunately, the characters resist their assigned roles, noble politics complicate every intervention, and Zachary's own position attracts attention he never planned for. Josiah must navigate the plot while hiding that the man everyone knows is no longer entirely himself.

Ch. 02 · Our verdict

My take

Josiah's attempt to manage someone else's romance is funniest when the characters refuse to cooperate with his understanding of their roles. His second-lead position gives familiar romance-fantasy conventions a different perspective, and expressive reactions keep the parody lively. The noble intrigue adds momentum, although readers unfamiliar with romance-fantasy formulas may find the commentary less rewarding than the characters' immediate problems.

✓ Read it if…

The male protagonist is neither a domineering duke nor a passive observer; he is a modern reader trying to troubleshoot someone else's romance plot from inside it. That viewpoint makes familiar second-lead and secret-identity beats feel playful. Lighthearted narration, expressive comedy, and steadily emerging court complications create an accessible weekly read.

! Skip it if…

The humor frequently comments on romance-fantasy conventions, so readers unfamiliar with second-lead roles and novel-possession stories may find some jokes less engaging. The noble intrigue also asks for attention beyond the protagonist's attempts to redirect the plot.
