What it's about

Spoiler level: Minor — for the synopsis & review below

After seven years of unjust confinement, April Lunos finally opens the gates of her family mansion, determined to reclaim the honor lost when her former fiancé's betrayal led to her parents' deaths and her house's ruin. Freedom lasts only moments: police accuse her of serial murders committed during the very years she was locked away. Leading them is Pejin Dieus—her childhood friend and the younger brother of the man who destroyed her life. April must expose the conspiracy, clear her name, and restore House Lunos.

Ch. 02 · Our verdict

My take

This is an arresting revenge mystery with a heroine whose anger feels earned and a gloomy estate setting that gives the story real atmosphere. April's fight for her name is immediately compelling, but the romance is deliberately difficult: Pejin's connection to the family that ruined her, and his own questionable choices, make him frustrating rather than comforting. Read it for conspiracy, suffering, and hard-won justice—not uncomplicated swooning.

✓ Read it if…

April is neither passive nor naïve; she emerges from years of isolation ready to investigate, fight back, and meet society's hatred head-on. The murder frame-up creates a strong hook, the art heightens the cold gothic mood, and every new clue promises another layer of family and imperial corruption.

! Skip it if…

The story begins with prolonged injustice, dead parents, imprisonment, and a heroine who is immediately victimized again. Readers are also divided over Pejin: his ties to her enemies, past behavior, and slow path toward regret can make the central romance feel infuriating or emotionally unconvincing.
